How my 3rd child potty trained herself

This is NO joke! My first born was 3 and 3 months when he was potty trained (anxiety and stress for me as he needed to be trained to begin pre-school), my middle was exactly 3 (was a tad less stressed as we had some months before pre-school and she was on her way) and now I have a 23 mo old running around naked (pants and diaper off) most of the day...saying pee pee and poo poo!!!

I'm sort of the worst! Ha. At 21 months she insisted on taking off her diaper and saying pee pee but every time I put her on the pot...nada! I am a busy mama so taking a break from "life" to put the baby on the pot was a huge in-convenience 😳. I feel bad saying that, but it just wasn't super convenient for me! So...I kept insisting she use her diaper.🙈 Then one day...she had had it! She learned to take her diaper and pants off herself and ran around our house, most days, "naki" as she liked to call it.

At 22 months she learned to toss herself on the pot! At this point, I had to help! She would call my name to help her get down, yet pee pee. Then it clicked on day! (Ha, of course if was with my hubby...why does it always happen that way?!). She began going by herself! And today...poo poo. At 23 mo little girl just did poo poo all but herself! I feel like a European! Aren't most of kids going by like 12 months?! #nuts.

By no means are we 100% potty trained but holy moly...we are close!!! Good luck moms! Take my advise, when kids are pointing to the potty and getting "naki"...they are ready to learn! Go with it!!!

Have you met my new best friend… Mr. Lid?!

OK moms, this one's a game changer! I can remember from my childhood through adulthood spending FOREVER trying to find the correct lid that matched my reusable

Container! Of course, it took forever to find or I would just fail. 😤. Good news is… Mr. Lid exists!

I don't know about you, but in California some schools are mandating that kids start using reusable containers rather than plastic bags for their lunch. Make sense in protecting our environment but more painful for the parents. Solution has been found! Mr. lid is it!!!

They come in all kinds of sizes I can put sandwiches and snacks of all sizes in the appropriate container! Easy for my kids to open. Easy for me to wash! (Top shelf of dishwasher)

This my friends… Was ingenious. Life just got a little easier for mama; and that is a GREAT thing!

Try it!

How to teach your kids another language

As if life is not crazy enough...did I mention...I'm teaching my kids Spanish!

My mom was born in Cuba yet I never learned spanish at home. 😂. However, I did inherit a tremendous love for the Spanish language! Maybe because I listetend to my mom speak it with family from the womb up...i actually became decent at it! In middle school, i was taking advance classes by high school I was in AP classes and college...well, I majored in international business which incorporated Spanish! I studied abroad in Spain and well...that was it! Cemented my love for the language!

So when my son was born, I decided I would only speak to him in Spanish! Who would have known it would have actually worked. Ha ha. My Spanish isn't perfect, and I can't sing "twinkle twinkle" in the language but...I do the best that I can do! In fAct, that is my motto with parenting..."I can only to the best that I can do!" Bonus- my husband supports me! #bigwin

My hubby speaks English to my kids, but 5 1/2 years later...I'm still going strong! It tough. They truly fight me on it as The English language is everywhere! School, cartoons, friends etc but I stick with it! I can't give up now (how I want to tho...especially when I am discipline). If I'm honest, I insist they watch most cartoons and movies in Spanish! Also- all the books I read to them are also in Spanish.

My son has started kindergarten and in my spare time, I'm teaching him to read and write in spanish. They weren't kidding when other parents told me kindergarten was a game kid is a total sponge! A ton of data suggests that kids that speak more than one language are smarter kids! So, why not?

Wish me luck...I'm going to need it!👊

How to relax on vacation

I have a friend that has three boys seven and under and refuses to vacation as a family. I used to think she was crazy but over time, I have come to understand her logic . We live in a beach town so it's not a bad place to stick around but regardless, I'm a type a person and likes to get out.

When my son was 3 weeks old, we took our first vacation to Palm Desert! By no means was this the "same" type of vacation but was fun to get away, have a cocktail and hang with my hubby. (Yes, side note...was nursing and did have a cocktail! Ha. There was no pumping and dumping for me if it was just one glass of wine or 1 cocktail! My friend whom is a nurse lactation consultant said you can actually have 1 drink per hour when nursing). Everything in moderation people!

Since then, we have taken family vacations to Colorado (in-laws), Hawaii once (with my first 2) Mammoth to ski recently and many more local SoCal trips to visit my family! Grant is NO walk in the park! the sleeping is terrible for everyone (mostly! Not being in their own bed) but there is something about the adventure and fun that has us repeat it again! Plus, I believe, it teaches your kids to be flexible while making memories as a Fun Family!

As a family, we have decided that tradition is important for us! Vacation allows us to create family traditions and give our kids 1 on 1 attention! Do it Friends...don't be afraid, do it! Throw your kids in the car for that long car ride and teach them to be flexible!

To Neti Pot or Not?

As a mom of 3 small children , there is zero time to be sick! In fact, I don't care how many children you have...your household needs MOM to run smoothly!

A few years ago I spent 2 hours in an urgent care for a doc to tell me I just had the Common Cold! I, being a former sales person, did my best job trying to persuade this young doc that if i didn't get antibiotics and get better soon that it was quite possible that I would die when I returned home! He didn't care and sent me away with a coupon for something called the Neti Pot. I laughed in his face and left! Drove

Straight to CVS and bought the strange contraption!

Best decision I have ever made!!! Although the pot is bizarre and quite gross, it has this incredible way, when using salt, to clean your nasal cavity! Been a total game changer in my life! Whenever I have a cold coming on...I bust out my friend "Neti" and get to business! Moms can't go down!!! We must stay healthy to care for our peeps!

I don't recommend the Neti Pot for kids, this is an adult only device. I do believe in humidifying my kids with cold or hot air when i believe they have a cough or cold coming on. A humidifier is a must for a household with kids. Target, amazon and places like CVS carry. Ask your pediatrician which is better for your kids or cold!

Free Time! What's That?

Truth is I have about 15 minutes to blog before my youngest wakes. My kindergartner is at school (full day from 8:40-3pm) and my 3 1/2 yo and 22 month old are napping. Not much time. I can't lie, when my girls sleep...I have to close my eyes for at least 15 to rejuvenate for my 2nd part of the rollercoaster ...I!. By the time I wake and attempt some is up and there goes my attempt at "productive" time!

Good news is...I am now at a stage in parenting when everyone goes to bed by 8 and sleeps all through the night! Best. News. Ever! Sleep is everything to me...well, almost everything!

I now get from 8 to 10 PM free every night. You would think that would be the time that I could clean organize catch up on email and return phone calls. In fact, that's the last thing I want to do. Most nights I find myself spending time with my hubby, Reading a good book or attempting a marathon from my computer of a TV show. If I'm honest, I'm normally reading a book. I'm so exhausted that the last thing I want to do is any of the above. Baby up!

Ok, I'm back. Going to attempt to continue blogging with a baby laying on me (attempting to sleep) and me typing on my iphone7. It's almost time for my afternoon cup of coffee! Lol. Coffee=survival for me! That a on the 🏃...must go!

Let's Get This Party Started

My first blog, might be my last blog. I am a mom of three very small children and my only free time is from 8 to 10 PM. I'm exhausted, usually having finished a 1/2 glass of wine and it's my time to put up my feet and read a good book. I could be a sucker for a good reality TV show every now and then too. No judging, I'm thinking about watching the bachelor again this upcoming season! I gave it a break for a season but I feel like my time to live in "la-la" land has come again! #sucker!

To all the first time moms out there I could probably share some of my advice. I'm semi-sane and mostly surviving on caffeine but still love every aspect of mommy hood. The tantrums, the markers gone wild sessions all over my house, the snotty noses but most of all the sweet giggles, kisses and hugs.

I have a sweet yet fiery five your half-year-old boy, a kind and loving 3 1/2-year-old girl and a feisty and determined little 20 month old girl. When I was newly pregnant, I was already chatting up with friends of mine that had kids to potentially get there baby clothes/gear. Because all three of our kids were a surprise , I had to reach out to a lot of mamas! One of my besties already had three boys, and she happily gave me bags and bags of clothes for my firstborn, a boy!

Loved loved loved handy- me downs! Saved a ton of $ and didn't feel guilty at all when wanting to buy a few special pieces from Janie and Jack (and Gap) on sale. Lol. I'm a sale never paying full price!

I also bought his crib used! I reached out to a mom friend of mine (already had 2 kids a tad bit older) that lived an hour away and she sent an email to her mommy possee and that is how we found our crib and changing table! Bought both for a steal and loved that this warm and loving family had used the crib / changing table with their 3 girls! Ha ha- if they only knew that their crib would go on to sleep my 3 babies plus more to come!!! (Not mine of course 😳...we are done! Finito! No más!). Buying used was awesome- I didn't feel guilty about buying my Serena and Lily bedding after that (sale of course) for my boy and then one set for my girls (to share...they will never know)! Boy bumper is thrashed (always start first 6months with an breathable bumper) but I have sent my boy sheets on to another friend!

My bestie had a girl first (now 6yo) and as you know, I had my boy when we went on to have our second (me girl, her boy) we exchanged ALL the clothes!!! Been amaze. Lol. We even did our trade with the 3rd (me girl and her girl, year younger)!

Best advice ever! Use USED and buy USED!!! Then...return the favor and hook another mama up!👊
